Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Qul a’oozu bi rabbil-falaq
Beseech: ‘I seek refuge with the Lord of daybreak (or Who brought the universe into existence with an explosion extremely fast),
say, O Messenger: I seek refuge in the Lord of the morning and seek His protection and refuge from the evil of what He has created. It is also said that Al-Falaq refers to a prison in Hellfire, and it is also said that it refers to the morning.

Quranic Reference:

“If you are tempted by Satan, then seek refuge with Allah. Surely He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.”

Surah Al-A’raf (7:200)

Min sharri maa khalaq
From the evil influence (and harmfulness) of everything that He has created,
from the evil of all creatures, including humans, jinn, and animals

Quranic Reference: The Quran mentions seeking refuge in Allah from various evils in different contexts, such as

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:67)

Wa min sharri ghaasiqin izaa waqab
And from the evil of darkness when it settles
from the evil that appears during the intensely dark night when people are overwhelmed and harmful things and evils spread.

Wa min sharrin-naffaa-taati fil ‘uqad
And from the evil of the blowers in knots
from the evil of sorcerers who blow into what they have tied with the intention of sorcery, and from those who seek their help to harm others.

Quranic Reference: The Quran condemns magic and sorcery as evil, as seen in

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:102).

Wa min sharri haasidin izaa hasad
And from the evil of an envier when he envies
seek refuge in Allah from every envious and malicious person who harbors envy towards the blessings that Allah bestows upon His servants, and desires their removal and harm to befall them.
